Jason Abell
Jason Abell grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. He was born in Portland, OR, and spent the majority of his life in Vancouver, WA. In high school, he began working for Wallis Engineering, a small municipal civil engineering firm. He was married to his best friend at 19 years of age, after which he attended Portland State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree.
Jason grew up attending various churches with his family, but was especially drawn by the Lord Jesus Christ in 1997, when his eyes were opened to the Word of God and a love of theology. Jason began teaching an adult Sunday school class at Brush Prairie Baptist Church in 1998, which he led until 2004.
In August 2004, Jason, Wendy, his bride and best friend, and their four children moved to Shoreview, MN, to attend Bethel Seminary and Bethlehem Baptist Church. After his first year at Bethel, Jason was admitted into the Vocational Elder Training program at The Bethlehem Institute, from which he graduated in 2008.
Jason began working as Tom Steller’s assistant in 2006, and grew in his position with TBI. As The Bethlehem Institute grew into Bethlehem College and Seminary, Jason’s role grew as well. Jason is now the Vice President of Administration, overseeing much of the administrative functions of the institution. Jason is also the Director of TBI, which continues to provide Bible-based, theologically-rigorous courses to anyone in the Twin Cities.
